Nicholas Pooran found himself involved in a heated on-field moment with Krunal Pandya during the IPL 2026 clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 7. The tense exchange took place in the 10th over of the innings and quickly grabbed the attention of fans on social media.
Pooran walked out to bat after Krunal dismissed young opener Arshin Kulkarni on the second ball of the over. Looking to test the aggressive left-hander immediately, Krunal bowled two consecutive short deliveries. Pooran left the first bouncer alone before pulling the second towards long-on for a single. However, things became heated moments later as Krunal appeared to say something after the run was completed.

Despite recent criticism over his inconsistent form this season, Pooran once again showed signs of returning to his destructive best. After smashing 63 off just 21 balls against the Mumbai Indians earlier this week, the wicketkeeper-batter continued his positive momentum with a valuable 38 off 23 balls against RCB.

Batting at No. 3, Pooran stitched together an important 70-run partnership with Mitchell Marsh, who dominated the innings with a sensational 111 off 56 balls — the fastest century by an LSG batter in IPL history. Krunal, meanwhile, impressed with the ball despite the confrontation, finishing with figures of 1/31 from four overs. LSG eventually posted 209/3 in 19 overs before rain revised RCB’s target to 213 under the DLS method.
