Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the second match of the double-header Sunday at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati. CSK won the toss and opted to field first, but their decision backfired as Nitish Rana produced a breathtaking counterattack. After RR lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early, Rana was promoted up the order, and the left-hander wasted no time in making his presence felt.
He took an aggressive approach right from the start, going after CSK’s debutant Jamie Overton. The highlight of his innings came in the second over when he executed a stunning upper-cut off Overton’s short ball, narrowly avoiding Khaleel Ahmed at the boundary as the ball sailed over for six.

Rana continued his onslaught, reaching a blistering half-century off just 21 balls—the second-fastest fifty of the tournament. He trailed only Nicholas Pooran, who hammered a 50 in just 18 balls earlier in IPL 2025.
