The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction saw various teams splashing huge money over cricketers and taking away their favorite picks. However, if there was one cricketer who has turned a lot of heads on social media post-auction is Suresh Raina, and obviously for the wrong reasons. It is to be noted that Raina, popularly known as Mr. IPL, went unsold in IPL mega auction.
Suresh Raina went unsold in the auction, franchises didn’t even show interest in him on the final day. Raina’s base price was ₹2 Crores and it will only be for the second time that he won’t be playing IPL after 2008 as he pulled out of the 2020 edition of the tournament citing personal reasons.

In the same turn of events, one of the old videos of Suresh Raina is making round on various social media platforms where he can be talking of playing IPL 2022 only if MS Dhoni plays. Raina, who shares a great bond with CSK skipper Dhoni beyond the field as well, stated that he would only play the next season if MS plays.
And, if MS doesn’t play, he wouldn’t be interested in IL in IPL 2022. Moreover, Raina also added that if they win this season (2021) which eventually happened, he would convince the legendary skipper to play one more season.

In the video, Suresh can be seen having an interview with News 24 Sports, and he said, “If Dhoni bhaai doesn’t play next season, I too won’t play. We’ve been playing since 2008 (for CSK), if we win this year then I’ll convince him to play next year too. I’ll try my best. If he will not play, then I don’t think I will play for any IPL team.”

Sureshnwent unsold in a mega auction, it raised a lot of eyebrows ad fans questioned why didn’t CSK even try getting the services of the southpaw after his services for so many years. Raina was instrumental in CSK’s success over the years and has 5528 runs (fourth highest run-getter in IPL history) under his belt while averaging 32.5.
