England batsman Ollie Pope was surprised how Daniel Jarvis, known as Jarvo 69, invaded The Oval Test again during the second day’s play. Jarvo ran to the pitch once again and tried to bowl and crashed into Jonny Bairstow who was standing at the non-striker’s end.

This is the third Test in a row when he breached the security and managed his way to the middle of the ground. Jarvo was first seen in the ground during the Lord’s Test when he came out to the field after the tea break wearing an Indian jersey.

The second instant happened during the Headingley Test when he walked out with pads and helmet on while holding a bat in his hand. He reached the middle after Rohit Sharma got out in the second innings of the third Test.

The cricketing fraternity was surprised with how Jarvo invaded the pitch again and so was Ollie Pope.

“Jarvo has made a few appearances this series. I don’t know how he’s got on the pitch again, to be honest; I try to stay in my bubble and don’t let it affect me. Just block it out,” Ollie Pope said.

“He just stops the play for five minutes every time he comes on. You’ve just got to try and block it out. The art of batting is to switch on and off – you try to switch off in between. Whatever happens before or between balls, I try to get into a good place for that next ball,” he added.

On the match’s front, Pope scored a sparkling half-century in his comeback Test and put England out of troubling waters. He came out to bat when England were 62/5 and then added crucial runs for his team. Chris Woakes also scored a flamboyant fifty on day two to put England in the driver’s seat.

England’s innings ended for 290 and gained a crucial lead of 99 runs. India, in response, finished day two at 43/0 as Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul negotiated the new ball well.
