Pat Cummins was charged up after taking the wicket and celebrated quite aggressively. Such was the importance of wicket. Virat Kohli was looking set for a big ton as he anchored the innings well. But Australia’s skipper yet again brought his team back into the game.

Virat Kohli ended with the knock of 54 runs off 63 balls. He slammed four boundaries in his innings as well and kept the Indian team in the hunt. After his wicket, India were left tumbling at 148/4. The onus will now be on KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Suryakumar Yadav to take the team to a big total.

Pat Cummins ahead of the final against India talked about his desire to silence the Ahmedabad crowd. He said that nothing would be more satisfying for them to make the crowd go numb.

Speaking to reporters, he explained: “I think you’ve got to embrace it. The crowd’s obviously going to be very one-sided but, in sport there’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent and that’s the aim for us tomorrow. Yeah, you’ve just got to embrace every part of it, every part of a final – even in the lead-up, there’s going to be noise and more people and interest, and you just can’t get overwhelmed. You’ve got to be up for it, you’ve got to love it, and just know whatever happens it’s fine, but you just want to finish the day with no regrets.”
