Phil Salt produced a moment of brilliance reminiscent of Suryakumar Yadav’s iconic boundary effort, as he helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) break through in the crucial IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Chasing 191 for their maiden IPL title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, PBKS looked to be off to a fiery start, courtesy of young opener Priyansh Arya.
Priyansh Arya was dealing in boundaries, playing with flair and aggression that had RCB on the back foot early on. He caught the ball just inside the boundary, tossed it up as his momentum took him over the rope, and then stepped back in to complete the catch, pulling off a move strikingly similar to Suryakumar Yadav’s viral effort for India during the T20 World Cup 2024 final. It was not only a crucial wicket but also a momentum-shifting play.
