Phil Salt’s juggling brilliance in the deep provided not just a wicket but a light-hearted moment during Friday’s IPL 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. While fielding at deep mid-wicket, the RCB wicketkeeper-batter pulled off a rather unconventional catch that sent both fans and players into smiles, none more so than Bollywood actress and Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma.

The moment came in the 17th over when SRH batter Abhinav Manohar attempted to go big off Romario Shepherd. The Guyanese pacer bowled a slower short ball outside off, tempting Manohar to pull. However, the SRH batter mistimed the shot, and it ballooned toward Phil Salt on the boundary.

Phil Salt fumbled on the first try, but with sharp awareness, he used his leg to control the ball before safely pouching it on the second attempt. The unorthodox effort led to an amusing reaction from Anushka, who burst into laughter before applauding the dismissal.

Manohar, who was promoted to give the SRH innings a late boost, managed just 12 runs off 11 balls, including a solitary six. Despite his early departure, SRH suffered no real setback as they had already laid a solid foundation. Powered by Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten 95, SRH posted a commanding total of 231/6.
