Opting to bat first, Punjab suffered an early blow as young opener Priyansh Arya fell cheaply in just the second over, managing only 6 runs.
Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis then steadied the innings with an aggressive counterattack, taking the total past 50 in no time. Inglis looked particularly dangerous, racing to 32 off just 12 balls, including 3 boundaries and 2 sixes, before he was dismissed by Vipraj Nigam, giving Delhi a much-needed breakthrough.

The execution was poor, the ball missed the bat and cannoned into the off stump, ending his innings at 28 off 18 balls. At the time of his dismissal, Punjab were in a decent position at 93 for 3 in the 10th over, with Iyer joined by Nehal Wadhera in the middle.
