While the young opener included legends like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Chris Gayle, he also made a bold call by snubbing Shreyas Iyer, instead handing the captaincy to the evergreen CSK veteran Dhoni.
Prabhsimran, who enjoyed a breakthrough season in IPL 2025 with Punjab Kings, showcased his ability as both a reliable opener and a game-changer. The 25-year-old was retained as an uncapped player alongside Shashank Singh, and the decision proved golden. When asked to name his dream XI, Prabhsimran started with the opening pair of Chris Gayle and Virender Sehwag—a partnership brimming with power and intent. Interestingly, he overlooked Rohit Sharma, choosing instead Mumbai Indians’ modern-day star Suryakumar Yadav at No. 4, followed by Hardik Pandya for all-around balance.
At No. 6, the ever-reliable MS Dhoni not only donned the gloves but also took up the captaincy—a decision that highlights the unmatched legacy of the 44-year-old CSK legend. Kieron Pollard was the obvious choice as the finisher, given his countless match-winning knocks for the Mumbai Indians.
