Punjab Kings’ explosive wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh recently revealed his all-time IPL Playing XI, and his choices have already sparked massive discussions among fans. While the young opener included legends like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Chris Gayle, he also made a bold call by snubbing Shreyas Iyer, instead handing the captaincy to the evergreen CSK veteran Dhoni.

Prabhsimran, who enjoyed a breakthrough season in IPL 2025 with Punjab Kings, showcased his ability as both a reliable opener and a game-changer. The 25-year-old was retained as an uncapped player alongside Shashank Singh, and the decision proved golden. Across 17 matches, he amassed 549 runs at an average of 32.29, striking the ball at a brisk rate and registering a top score of 91. His consistency was one of the biggest reasons behind PBKS finishing runners-up in the season.
When asked to name his dream XI, Prabhsimran started with the opening pair of Chris Gayle and Virender Sehwag—a partnership brimming with power and intent. Gayle, who once shared the dressing room with Prabhsimran at Punjab, remains one of the most destructive batters in IPL history. Sehwag, meanwhile, was instrumental in redefining T20 batting during his stint with Delhi Daredevils.

No surprises came next, as the youngster slotted in Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the iconic RCB duo who dominated IPL bowling attacks for over a decade. Interestingly, he overlooked Rohit Sharma, choosing instead Mumbai Indians’ modern-day star Suryakumar Yadav at No. 4, followed by Hardik Pandya for all-around balance.

At No. 6, the ever-reliable MS Dhoni not only donned the gloves but also took up the captaincy—a decision that highlights the unmatched legacy of the 44-year-old CSK legend. Kieron Pollard was the obvious choice as the finisher, given his countless match-winning knocks for the Mumbai Indians.
For the bowling unit, Prabhsimran combined pace with guile. He picked Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga, a dream pairing that terrorised batters during their MI days. To complete the XI, he selected his PBKS teammate Yuzvendra Chahal as the lone spinner, ensuring a balanced attack.
