Prasidh Krishna has explained how he brings aggression into his bowling as India continued to dominate Sri Lanka on Day 2 of the second Test in Colombo on Monday. India declared their first innings at 503/9 before reducing Sri Lanka to 8/2 at stumps, putting the hosts under immediate pressure. Krishna, who dismissed Lahiru Udara for just one run, said aggression does not always have to be reflected through a bowler’s body language or on-field demeanour.
Instead, he believes his approach is reflected in the intensity, discipline and effort he puts into every delivery. “Yeah, I would like to say so. I mean, aggression can come out in different ways, and for me it is about what I’m doing when I’m bowling.”
The Indian seamer added that bowlers can easily become distracted by the conditions or what is happening around them. However, his priority remains to maintain focus and consistently hit the areas decided by the team.
“It’s very easy for people to get away or be distracted by what’s happening in the pitch. There’s too much happening, there’s not too much happening, but I think the focus is still to come in and bowl those areas with full effort,” Prasidh Krishna said while speaking to the broadcasters ahead of Day 3, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Krishna also explained how his bowling length changes according to the conditions. He revealed that India’s analysts and coaching staff play an important role in identifying the ideal areas to target on different surfaces.
“Length is something that keeps changing with the pitches that we play on. So we sit with analysts, coaches, and everything and decide on what’s the kind of length that we want to be bowling on different surfaces,” he said. The pacer further stressed that playing for India requires him to adapt rather than simply rely on his natural length. “Natural length was something that I could say when I was not playing for the country, but when I’m here I need to be bowling every length that the team wants, and I’m trying to do that,” Krishna added.

Krishna was also among India’s key contributors in the first Test, taking three wickets as India secured a 165-run victory. Alongside Mohammed Siraj, he has provided control with the new ball and consistently troubled Sri Lanka’s batters with disciplined bowling. Reflecting on Udara’s dismissal, Krishna said the Colombo pitch offered some assistance, with the ball stopping slightly and producing seam movement. He also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal for completing an excellent catch.
“I think it was, there’s something in the pitch, of course. Maybe stopped a little bit. There was a bit of seam, and I think credit goes to Jaiswal for the catch that he took. It was an exceptional one,” Praisdh Krishna said. He also highlighted the importance of India’s slip fielders, stressing that creating an edge is only half the job. “100%. I think 50% of the job is bowling the ball there, getting an edge, but 50% is taking it as well,” he added.

Krishna believes India’s focus on fielding during practice sessions is now paying dividends, with the team doing the basics well and converting opportunities into wickets. With Sri Lanka already two wickets down, India will look to Krishna and Siraj to maintain the pressure on Day 3 and push for another strong result in Colombo.
