Lucknow Super Giants pacer Prince Yadav shared a memorable moment with Virat Kohli after producing one of the deliveries of IPL 2026 during LSG’s thrilling clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Stadium on Thursday. Shortly after Lucknow sealed a dramatic nine-run victory under the DLS method, Kohli was spotted having a warm conversation with Prince and LSG bowling coach Bharat Arun near the boundary ropes.

The former India captain looked relaxed and appreciative as he placed his hand on the youngster’s shoulder, seemingly acknowledging the quality of the dismissal. For Prince Yadav, May 7 will likely remain one of the defining nights of his young cricket career. Bowling just his second delivery to Kohli, the 24-year-old pacer unleashed a sensational 140-kmph inswinger that jagged back sharply and crashed into the off stump. Kohli was completely beaten by the movement as the Ekana crowd fell silent for a brief moment.
The dismissal carried extra significance because it marked Kohli’s first duck in the IPL since April 2023 and his first zero while chasing in the tournament in nine years. The previous instance came during RCB’s infamous collapse against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017 at Eden Gardens.

Earlier in the evening, Mitchell Marsh powered LSG to a commanding 209/3 with a magnificent century. Despite a spirited response from RCB, Lucknow held their nerve to restrict the visitors to 203/6 in the rain-shortened 19-over contest. Speaking after the match, Prince admitted that Kohli’s earlier advice had actually helped him dismiss the batting superstar.

“I felt good after the wicket, but I am most happy that we won the match. If I had taken the wicket and we had lost, it wouldn’t have been so good,” Prince yadav said during the post-match press conference.
The youngster also credited Mohammed Shami for helping him improve with the new ball and praised the senior pacer’s guidance on the field.

Prince is now enjoying a breakthrough IPL 2026 season with 16 wickets to his name, just one behind Purple Cap leaders Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Anshul Kamboj, who both have 17 wickets. “We are not thinking much about the playoffs, but we are thinking about taking it match-by-match,” Prince added after LSG’s crucial win.
