Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is one of the greatest cricketing minds in the world. However, Dhoni is not young anymore, slowly and steadily he is heading towards the conclusion of his cricketing career.

Once Dhoni leaves, it will be the hardest job for the Indian team to find a replacement for him. Here are four probable cricketers who might fill in the boots of MS Dhoni, especially in ODIs and T20Is.

1. Sanju Samson

The cricketer from Kerala is another one of the prime prospects who can replace Dhoni. Samson has the ability of hard-hitting and at the same time he has the safest pair of hand behind the stumps. Samson has yet to make his international debut and it will take him long to become a regular member of the national squad. However, he is on the right path of finding his spot. He only needs to do some hard work on his technique and that will help him to make it to the squad.

2. KL Rahul

The Karnataka batsman has already made it big in international cricket in past year or so. He is the third Indian batsman to score centuries in all the three formats. In required times, he also has the ability to keep wickets in Tests and it will be interesting to see if he can continue the same in the limited overs format as well. Rahul will be a crucial cog for team India in near future but if he improves on his keeping technique, he can be an apt replacement for ‘Captain Cool’.
