Rahul Dravid, the current head coach of Rajasthan Royals and former India head coach, has stepped in to address growing speculation about unrest in the Royals’ camp. Amidst a string of disappointing results and a viral video suggesting skipper Sanju Samson was sidelined during a strategic Super Over discussion, Dravid has clarified that he and Samson remain in full sync when it comes to team decision-making.
The clip, which sparked a wave of reactions on social media, showed Samson standing away from the team huddle during a crucial Super Over against Delhi Capitals, while Dravid and a few players discussed strategy. This led to rumours that the team’s leadership might be fractured. However, Dravid was quick to rubbish such claims at a recent pre-match press conference.
“I don’t know where these reports are coming from. Sanju and I are on the same page,” he said firmly. Dravid emphasized that all major decisions are made collaboratively, involving not just him and Samson, but the coaching staff and analysts as well.

“The decisions are being made by me, with Sanju being an integral part of that, and in consultation with our other coaches and our analyst team,” Rahul Dravid clarified. “Of course, not every decision works out. Even the best can get it wrong, but I have full confidence in our team and in Sanju’s leadership.”

Samson had also been nursing an abdominal strain earlier in the season, which disrupted RR’s momentum. Although the Royals managed early wins over CSK and PBKS, they’ve now lost three games on the trot, further intensifying scrutiny on their internal dynamics.
Rahul Dravid also shared an update on Samson’s fitness: “Sanju experienced a bit of pain in the abdominal area, so we’ve done scans. We’re waiting on the results, and only then will we know the severity of the injury and decide on the next steps.”
