Chennai Super Kings veteran and ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently made headlines not for his on-field heroics, but for his firm stance on steering clear of any CSK-related discussions on his YouTube channel. During his latest video, Ashwin cut off a panellist mid-sentence when MS Dhoni’s name came up, reminding everyone of his decision to avoid talking about his former franchise amidst ongoing controversy.

The controversy stems from a previous video where Prasanna Agoram—former South Africa and RCB performance analyst—criticised CSK’s management for including Noor Ahmad in the playing XI despite having senior spinners like Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

The comment sparked massive debate, eventually reaching the CSK camp, with head coach Stephen Fleming forced to address it during a press conference. “I have no idea. I didn’t even know he had a channel,” Fleming said bluntly, brushing aside the chatter.

In response to the backlash, Ravichandran Ashwin released a statement declaring that he would no longer comment on CSK or their performances to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings. Staying true to his word, his latest video covered recent IPL 2025 matches—conspicuously skipping CSK’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants.

While discussing leadership in the IPL, a panellist began praising skippers like Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, and “Thala” MS Dhoni. But before the sentence was completed, Ashwin jumped in, stopping the conversation from drifting toward CSK. “Let’s not go there,” he implied, with a polite yet assertive interruption.

Ashwin’s decision highlights the sensitivity around team dynamics, media narratives, and the fine line players walk when discussing their franchises. For fans, it’s a reminder that the IPL isn’t just about cricket—it’s also about perception, loyalty, and the power of words off the field.
