The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Rajasthan Royals (RR) has unveiled their new jersey for the 2022 edition of the tournament. The official social media handles of the Jaipur-based franchise made the major announcement on Tuesday (March 15). The inaugural-season champions have managed to continue with the shades of pink and blue but have made some significant changes in their design. There are horizontal stripes on the jersey made from multiple shades of pink.
At the same time, the collars and sleeves of the jersey are dark blue in color. Meanwhile, the jersey was unveiled through a fun video posted by the franchise featuring Sanju Samson, skipper Yuzvendra Chahal and also RedBull stuntman Robbie Maddison, who showed off his skills and delivered the jersey.

Commenting on the jersey, skipper, Sanju Samson said, “It was really amazing. Robbie’s amazing stunts were something that I’ve seen for the very first time in person, having only watched previously on TV. (Would I ever try this sport?) Maybe I’ll try it out for myself also once I’ve stopped playing cricket (laughs).”

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will be expected to witness a change in fortunes alongside a change in jersey. After lifting the title in the inaugural edition in 2008, RR hasn’t qualified for the final even once. In fact, their performance in the last couple of seasons has been nothing but underwhelming.
Nonetheless, RR did a fine job in the mega auction last month and formed a formidable squad. While the side looks balanced on the paper, it remains to be seen how they’ll execute their plans on the field. Meanwhile, IPL 2022 will be commencing set to get underway on March 26 and cricket fans must have marked their calendars.
