Chennai Super Kings have been dealt another significant setback in IPL 2026, with all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a foot fracture. The injury came immediately after his debut appearance against the Mumbai Indians in Chennai, cutting short what looked like a promising start to his IPL journey.

Ghosh had impressed in his first outing, returning figures of 1/24 in three overs and contributing in the field with a sharp catch to dismiss Will Jacks. Although he didn’t get an opportunity to bat, his all-round display hinted at his potential value to the side. However, his debut turned unfortunate when he appeared to injure himself during his bowling spell, reportedly losing his balance while bowling to Naman Dhir.
Head coach Stephen Fleming later confirmed the injury, expressing disappointment at losing a player so early into his stint. The franchise subsequently announced that Ghosh had suffered a fracture in his right foot and would take no further part in IPL 2026.

This latest blow adds to a growing list of injury concerns for CSK this season. The campaign began without key pacer Nathan Ellis, who was ruled out before the tournament. Meanwhile, veteran star MS Dhoni is yet to feature as he continues to recover from a calf injury. Dewald Brevis also missed the initial matches due to a side strain.
