Adelaide Strikers pulled off a thumping win against the Melbourne Stars in the semifinal clash of the Big Bash League in order to the reach the final of the tournament. With 3 needed off the last ball and the Windies all-rounder Kieron Pollard on strike, Ben Laughlin managed to beat him. With just a bye scored, the Strikers had done some huge celebration as they sealed a spot in the finals.

However, the Adelaide Strikers will not be able to get the services the talented leggie Rashid Khan in the final. The right arm spinner would be off for national duty as Afghanistan versus Zimbabwe series kicks off. Having picked figures of 1/28 in his four-over quota, Khan had been outstanding undoubtedly.

Rashid has been the joint highest wicket this season alongside Dwayne Bravo from the Melbourne Renegades. With 18 wickets at an ecstatic bowling average of 13.83 and an exceptional economy under six, he continues to outfox batsmen at his will.

As Khan departed for the national duty, he took off to Twitter to thank everyone for the support. He conveyed his best wishes to the Strikers ahead of the all-important final.

Before saying the final good-bye, Rashid tweeted, “@StrikersBBL IN FINAL NOW. Thank you sooo much everyone from your support love and great hospitality throughout tournament Have to leave for my national duty cant wait to come again next year @BBL @StrikersBBL @dizzy259 @travishead34 BEST OF LUCK iN FINAL”

The Afghan player also grabbed a splendid deal at the IPL Auction. After a tug of war between the various franchises, Khan was sold for a whopping ₹9 crores, but Sunrisers Hyderabad made used of their RTM card to make sure he was coming back to them. It will be interesting to see him in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.
