In an otherwise one-sided contest at the Wankhede Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) Ravi Bishnoi managed to create a rare moment of joy for his side during Match 45 of the IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians (MI). Facing India’s premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Bishnoi sent the final ball of Bumrah’s spell soaring over long-on for a six, celebrating the strike with an animated fist pump that even drew a smile from the usually stoic Bumrah.

At that stage, Mumbai Indians were already in firm control. Bumrah had rattled the LSG batting lineup, claiming four wickets to leave them reeling at eight down. However, Bishnoi’s fearless hit off one of the world’s best bowlers showed a glimpse of spirit, even as the result was all but sealed.

Interestingly, this wasn’t Bishnoi’s first maximum of the night. Earlier, he had dispatched Corbin Bosch into the stands, marking a personal milestone. Prior to this game, the leg-spinner had never hit a six in his IPL career. To top it off, his knock of 13 runs off 14 balls also turned out to be his highest score in IPL history — a small but memorable achievement amidst a tough outing for his team.

Ravi Bishnoi eventually fell to Corbin Bosch, but not before giving LSG fans something to cheer about. While the game belonged firmly to the Mumbai Indians, thanks to contributions from the likes of Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks, Bishnoi’s fighting spirit offered a bright moment for the Super Giants in an otherwise forgettable evening.
