Ravichandran Ashwin ‘Feeling Itchy’ After Being Confined At Home

The veteran Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin has now started to ‘feel itchy’ after being confined to his home for more than two months because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Thursday, during a chat with Sadhguru, Ashwin explained that now he just wants to go out and play.

Like other Indian cricketers, Ashwin has not been able to go out and practice since March 25 due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to curb the outbreak of the deadly virus.

During the conversation with Sahdguru, Ashwin said, “Initially I felt like I was okay, but now I’m getting really itchy, I want to go out and play, or do something like that, I am getting really itchy inside the house.” During the conversation, Ashwin played the host and asked numerous questions to Sadhguru on COVID-19 and other topics.

The 33-year-old spinner resides in Chennai where sporting activities still haven’t resumed. In recent times, he has been conducting Instagram live sessions with various cricketers and named these series as Reminisce with Ash. A lot of cricketers Kumar Sangakkara, Harbhajan Singh, Rohit Sharma, Russel Arnold, Sanjay Manjrekar, Virat Kohli, etc featured in the series.

Currently, India is going through a nationwide lockdown. Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 227000 with almost 6400 people losing their lives on Friday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Almost the entire is in a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
