Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ravindra Jadeja took an important catch to send back the Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) wicket-keeper, Dinesh Karthik which was a final nail in the coffin for CSK’s win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match played at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday. After taking the catch Jadeja looked relieved.

The CSK skipper fell to the ground as he took Karthik’s catch. The video of Jadeja’s celebration after the catch went viral on social media. By winning the match, CSK broke their four-match losing streak in the ongoing season of the IPL. Notably, it is also Jadeja’s first victory as the captain of the Chennai-based franchise.

Ravindra Jadeja dedicated this victory to his wife. Speaking at the post-match presentation, the CSK skipper said, “First of all, this is the first victory as a captain ever. I would like to dedicate it to my wife because the first victory is always special. Previous four games, we couldn’t cross the line. But as a team, we came good.”

CSK skipper also praised CSK batters Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube for their brilliant match-winning knocks of 88 and 95 runs respectively. Batting first, CSK scored 216 for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Wanindu Hasaranga took a couple of wickets for RCB.

RCB managed to reach the score of 193 runs with the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Jadeja bagged three wickets in the match. Meanwhile, Mahesh Theekshana was the highest wicket-taker as he scalped four wickets for CSK. When Karthik was looking dangerous, Jadeja took a brilliant catch under pressure. Dube was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant 95 runs.

CSK will be locking horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) in their next game on Sunday (April 17) and they will be looking to take the winning momentum forwrd.
