The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has finalized its list of the retained and released players ahead of the much-awaited mega-auction of the 2022 edition. The Bangalore-based franchise has decided to retain the match-winning trio of Mohammed Siraj, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell for the 15th edition of the tournament.
Fans were surprised to see players like Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, and Devdutt Padikkal have not been retained by the RCB ahead of the IPL Auction 2022. Patel was the MVP in the 2021 edition, while Padikkal has been RCB’s find. Both are back in the auction pool.
Chahal was the most successful bowler for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the recent seasons of the tournament. The right-arm leg-spinner had stated in one of his interviews that he wants to retire at RCB, but it seems his ambition may not be fulfilled.

Interestingly, according to reports, Yuzvendra Chahal could not agree with the financial deal RCB was offering him. Here’s what Times of India reporter K Shriniwas Rao reported on Twitter: “RCB: VK, Siraj, Maxwell (Yuzi and RCB couldn’t sort out financials).”

Thus Yuzvendra Chahal is now most likely to be out on the auction table in the mega-auction 2022. It will be interesting to see if Lucknow or Ahmedabad decides to sign him before the auction starts as he will be a hot commodity along with Harshal Patel for most of the franchises.
