Ricky Bhui reveals a rare tradition of SRH

Ever since making their debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad has emerged as the powerhouse in the league. Out of the five seasons, they have played, the team failed only twice to make it to the playoffs. In a short span of time, SRH managed to lift the IPL title in 2016 by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the finals. David Warner has shown his captaincy skills to the world under the same franchise as he later gets to lead Australia’s T20I squad.

Hyderabad believes to hold in a core of players who create a powerhouse in the team. Ricky Bhui is a familiar name in the team camp, who has been with the team since 2014. Despite spending four years in Hyderabad, he is still waiting to get a game in the IPL. The team has brought him back at his base price in the auction of IPL 2018.

Former Indian U-19 player revealed some inside facts of SRH during an interview with InUth. He mentioned that the team has a thing called ‘fine meetings’. Players of SRH camp has to pay a fine of Rs 1000 if they found guilty of breaching any team norm.

It is an unwritten rule and extends to something as basic as singing songs in the team hotel. Bhui was fined for singing a bit too loudly as it apparently disturbed the team manager. If a player forgets a piece of equipment on the ground they are eligible for a fine.

Andhra player quoted “We have something called the ‘fine’s meeting’. Fine’s meeting is something, where if you have done a mistake you will have to pay for it. Suppose you forgot something on the ground, you will have to pay 1000 rupees straight.”

“So I was fined because I was singing songs in my room. My trainer apparently who was on the other room heard it. It was 12 o clock at that time. So it disturbed him and I was fined. IPL 2018 will kick off at Mumbai on April 7 and the final will be played at the same venue on the evening of 27 May.
