Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) preparations for IPL 2025 took a colourful turn as the team celebrated Holi in high spirits ahead of the tournament’s opening match. The festival of colours, observed on March 14, brought a welcome break from intense training sessions, with players immersing themselves in the joyous occasion. Among them, Rinku Singh stood out as the most exuberant, leading the celebrations with his trademark energy.
KKR’s official social media handle shared a video of Rinku enjoying Holi by the poolside of the team hotel, playing with ‘gulaal’ and spreading festive cheer. The clip quickly went viral, with fans loving this lighter side of their favourite cricketers before the high-octane tournament kicks off.

Rinku Singh’s rise to stardom in the IPL has been nothing short of spectacular. He became a household name in 2023 when he pulled off an unforgettable heist, smashing five consecutive sixes in the final over against Gujarat Titans’ Yash Dayal. That season, he amassed 474 runs at a staggering average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.52, earning him a well-deserved spot in the Indian national team.

However, the 2024 edition wasn’t as kind to the left-hander. Despite playing 15 matches, he managed only 168 runs at an underwhelming average of 18.66, failing to register a single half-century. Though KKR lifted the title, Rinku’s contributions were far below expectations. Now, with IPL 2025 on the horizon, he will be eager to rediscover his destructive form and make a strong impact.
