The 21-year-old has been dropped from the Indian squad for the ongoing ODI and T20I matches in the ongoing tour of Australia and the upcoming New Zealand series. His omission raised eyebrows after his impressive display in the Test series. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman still has his World Cup hopes alive and head coach Ravi Shastri has also stated that Pant is a part of the world cup plans.

Pant will also be a part of India A squad who will be taking to the field against England Lions in a five-match unofficial ODI series, which will commence from January 23 in Thiruvananthapuram.
