After more than a year away from the cricket field due to a life-threatening car accident, Rishabh Pant, the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter and skipper of Delhi Capitals, is set to make his highly anticipated return in the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially declared Pant fit to resume professional cricketing activities after an extensive 14-month rehabilitation process following the harrowing incident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, in December 2022.
In response to the news, Pant expressed a mix of excitement and nerves, likening his return to a debut. “I’m excited and nervous at the same time. It feels like I’m going to make my debut again,” he remarked. Reflecting on his journey, Pant expressed gratitude to his well-wishers, fans, and the BCCI, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout his recovery.
Joining the Delhi Capitals pre-season camp, Pant conveyed his eagerness to reunite with the team and participate in the IPL, a tournament he deeply cherishes. He credited the team owners and support staff for their unwavering backing, emphasizing their role in his journey back to cricketing action.

Rejoining the Delhi Capitals pre-season camp, Pant shared his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m excited to return to Delhi Capitals & the IPL – a tournament I enjoy so much. I can’t wait to reunite with my DC family and play in front of the fans again.”
