Currently, one of the most loved Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) is locking horns with the last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals (DC) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After winning the toss, the MI skipper, Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first. Hence, the DC opened their innings with Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw.

The young wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has often been compared with MS Dhoni, as the Pant has often tried to pick Dhoni’s brain and recently he imitated Dhoni’s famous helicopter shot during the match.

Pant took on the bowlers as he cleaned the ropes and pierced the gaps more often than not. During his scintillating knock, Rishabh played a couple of helicopter shots, a trademark of Dhoni. While the young southpaw is far from picking Dhoni’s wicket-keeping abilities, he was seen trusting his ability to clear the boundaries with ease.

The Delhi lad dispatched Bumrah from a yorker delivery playing a trademark helicopter shot. It was very full and was on the stumps, Rishabh Pant goes deep in the crease and unleashes the half-helicopter shot over deep square leg for a maximum.

Here is the video of the shot:

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals didn’t have a good start to the opener. They lost Prvithi Shaw in the second over to Mitchell McClenaghan. While Shikhar Dhawan played a waiting game, skipper Shreyas Iyer decided to take things on. Iyer smacked two fours and one six before McClenaghan made him his second victim of the game, but the credit for the dismissal should go to the brilliant catch o Kieron Pollard.

Reeling at 29 for two, Shikhar Dhawan and Colin Ingram bailed their side out of danger. They added 83 runs for the third wicket but both the set batsmen got out quickly as Mumbai dented back in the tie. But Pant’s knock of 78 runs from just 27 balls including seven fours and sixes each helped the visitors to reach a total of 213 runs at the end of 20 overs.
