Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, who suffered a horrific car accident in December 2022, has provided an encouraging update on his recovery. Pant’s car crashed into a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway and caught fire, resulting in multiple injuries. However, the 25-year-old has been documenting his progress, recently sharing a video of himself walking unassisted up a flight of stairs.

In his caption, Pant acknowledged that even simple tasks can be challenging at times. Throughout his rehabilitation, Pant has been actively involved with his team, the Delhi Capitals. He attended their matches during the Indian Premier League and recently took the opportunity to address young Under-16 cricketers at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

During the session, Pant shared insights about the game, emphasized the importance of hard work, and provided guidance to aspiring players.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expressed gratitude towards Pant for sparing time to interact with the young cricketers, highlighting his generosity. Pant has undergone several surgeries to address the injuries sustained in the accident, including a significant procedure in Mumbai to treat ligament damage in his right knee. Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket had previously stated that it could take up to two years for Pant to make a full recovery and return to international cricket.
