The Delhi Capitals (DC), Rishabh Pant has been known for his happy-go-lucky approach on the field and he will be leading the franchise for the first time in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been in incredible form with his bat this year and he would be looking to replicate the same even in the IPL. The opponents would be pretty aware of his destructive style of play with the bat.
Meanwhile, Pant’s propensity for engaging in banters with batsmen has witnessed a new version in DC’s net sessions. He was seen, having some fun with Sam Billings, the England cricketer. While keeping wickets, the southpaw came up with hilarious talks when the English batsman was finding it tough to play spin-bowling. DC captioned the video and wrote, “@rishabpant can’t resist himself behind the stumps, even during practice.”

Pant will be leading the squad in place of Shreyas Iyer, who was ruled out of the tournament due to injury. However, Steve Smith, who’s a part of the Capitals this season, reckons that Pant can become a successful captain. Smith sounded excited to play under Pant’s leadership.

Steve Smith said, “I’m excited to see Rishabh (Pant) as captain. I think he is an incredible player, as we have seen over the last few months. He has taken his game to a new level, and I think captaincy will suit him really well. So, excited to work underneath him, and hopefully, we can have a successful season.”
Pant also garnered a lot of praise from Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins, who would be playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2021. The speedster was impressed with Pant’s fearless approach.

Cummins had said, “As a fan, you always tend to enjoy someone who is playing a completely different game than everybody else. They are fearless, you look at them and feel geez wish I could do that as well, geez he was Brave. So, I think in three recent series it was Rishabh Pant.”
