In a recent IPL 2024 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), tensions ran high as DC captain Rishabh Pant expressed his frustration towards bowler Khaleel Ahmed for failing to execute the team’s bowling plans effectively. The incident unfolded during the sixth over of the KKR innings at the Eden Gardens.

At the start of the sixth over, KKR was off to a flying start, with Phil Salt dominating the bowling attack. Salt’s aggressive batting had propelled KKR to 61 runs without any loss after five overs, with him contributing 42 runs to the total.

Khaleel Ahmed was tasked with turning the tide and containing the opposition’s momentum. However, things didn’t go as planned, as Salt hammered him for three fours and a six in the over. Despite starting with a dot ball, Khaleel conceded boundaries and a six, frustrating Pant, who could be seen urging his teammate to bowl better.

KKR eventually clinched a convincing seven-wicket victory, with Phile Salt’s explosive innings setting the tone for their successful chase of 154 runs. Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer sealed the win with an unbeaten partnership after Salt’s initial blitz.

In the first innings, DC struggled to post a competitive total, finishing at 153/9. Apart from Kuldeep Yadav’s notable contribution of 35 runs, the batting lineup faltered against KKR’s bowling attack, led by Varun Chakravarthy, who claimed three crucial wickets.
