Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lacked horns with each other in the 38th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Batting first, the Punjab-based franchise posted 187 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was the pick of the batters against CSK in the last few years and continued his good form.

A solid knock of 88* from Shikhar Dhawan helped PBKS post a formidable 187/4 in 20 overs. His heroics powered Punjab Kings to a competitive total. Bhanuka Rajapaksha continued his good form as well. He smashed 42 off 32 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 hits over the fence. CSK bowlers had a bad day at the office as they leaked too many runs. DJ Bravo scalped a couple of wickets to his name.

Meanwhile, Rishi Dhawan made a terrific comeback to the IPL as he took his first wicket in the IPL after almost 6 years in the cash-rich league. He got the big wicket of in-form CSK batter Shivam Dube during CSK’s innings.

The incident happened during the last ball of the 7th over when Rishi Dhawan bowled a spectacular delivery to get rid of the young southpaw, who tried to nudge it down the ground but ended up getting an inside edge in the first place. As it turned out, he got an edge before the ball made a complete mess of his stumps.
