Rohit Sharma Acknowledges He Needs To Take Care Of Mental Aspect

Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma wasn’t pleased with all after his team failed to qualify for the playoffs in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. After suffering losses in their first eight matches, the five-time IPL champions became the first team to be eliminated from the 10-team tournament in the 15th edition of the tournament.

Even the batting form of Rohit Sharma has been one of the biggest matters of concern for MI. The right-handed batter failed to score a single half-century in the entire tournament. In 14 matches, the veteran only managed to score 268 runs at an average of 19.14 and a strike rate of 120.17 with a top score of 48.

As per the quotes in India Today, Rohit Sharma had said, “A lot of things that I wanted to do didn’t happen,” Sharma was quoted as saying. The Nagpur-born Rohit clearly said that he needs to focus on his mental health to get back to his very best.”

Explaining it further, Rohit said, “But this has happened with me earlier as well, so it’s not something I am going through for the first time. … I need to take care of the mental aspect and think about how I can return to form and perform. It was a bit of a disappointing season for us as we couldn’t execute our plans at the start of the tournament. In tournaments like the IPL, you have to build that momentum.”

On Saturday, May 21, Rohit Sharma and his men finished the IPL 2022 on a grand note after registering a 5-wicket win over Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mumbai’s victory also meant that DC crashed out of the championship and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made their way through to the playoffs as the fourth team.
