Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians (MI) has been the most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have got their hands on the IPL trophy, a record-breaking 5 times. Meanwhile, MI failed to do much in the ongoing IPL 2022 and possibly went through its worst season ever. They lost their first 8 games of the season in consecutive fashion.
However, the last few matches went in their favor MI as they managed to win 4 out of their last six games. They did not make it to the playoffs in the last season as well. In IPL 2022, MI ended its campaign at the bottom of the table with just 8 points under their kitty with an unimpressive net run rate. They were the first team to be eliminated from the 15th Indian Premier League edition.

“Mumbai Indians will come back strong with a bang next year in IPL.” said the MI skipper. “We’ve to lift the sixth Trophy anyhow. It is unfortunate that it can’t happen this year. 6th IPL trophy, the trophy will come in 2023.” – Suryakumar Yadav added.
