What followed was a burst of playful banter, as Rohit cheekily kneed Chahal in jest. The leggie attempted to dodge the friendly ambush, but Rohit wasn’t letting him get away easily. After the light-hearted tussle, the two shared a warm hug, much to the delight of fans watching the camaraderie between the Indian stalwarts.

However, Yuzvendra Chahal won’t feature in the game due to a finger injury that also kept him out of the previous fixture against Delhi Capitals. The leg-spinner is expected to return in time for the playoffs.

Despite the injury setback, Chahal has had a solid season, bagging 14 wickets in 12 games, second only to Arshdeep Singh in PBKS’ bowling chart.

As for the match, Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first in this must-win tie. With Chahal still recovering, Harpreet Brar will spearhead the spin department. Iyer emphasised his confidence in the team’s ability to execute their plans under pressure.

“We are going to bowl first. I prefer letting our actions speak louder than words. I give the boys the right push, but it’s their job to deliver,” said Iyer. “Jamieson and Vyshak come into the XI,” he confirmed during the toss.
