India’s right-hand opener Rohit Sharma defends Real Madrid after their exit from the Champions League. Real Madrid is one of the biggest football clubs in the world who had won the four of the last five sessions which included the last three. It was expected that they will do something like this in this session also. However, there are various factors behind their exclusion from the pre-quarterfinal stage including the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Zinedine Zidane.
Meanwhile, the way of the departure was more than worse as they lost to lowly Ajax at home where Ajax thrashed the Spanish giants 4-1 to advance 5-3. After the loss, the fans of Real Madrid started slamming the club for their poor performance. With the growing criticism, Rohit Sharma thought to show his support to the club. He took to Twitter and shared his views as well.

“First time in 22 years @realmadrid has failed to qualify for @ChampionsLeague shows how dominant & consistent they have been in Europe. Any team can have one bad year, it’s no big deal. They are still a powerhouse,” wrote Rohit Sharma.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma will try to win the Indian Premier League (IPL); which is scheduled to be started from March 23. Rohit-led Mumbai Indians had a not-so-good last season where they finished on fifth in the chart. They were the defending champions, as well as the three-time IPL winners but managed to win two of their opening games.

However, Rohit too had a forgettable IPL season in 2018 where he scored 286 runs in 14 innings. That was probably the first time he couldn’t reach 300 runs mark in the IPL season. This year they will surely try to improve their skills and performances in order to get noticed as the mega event i.e. the ICC World Cup is around the corner which will take place in May.
