Earlier, ahead of the IPL kick-off, Hardik Pandya, in a pre-season press conference, addressed queries regarding the change in leadership at Mumbai Indians. Pandya tactfully addressed concerns about succeeding Rohit Sharma as the team’s captain, emphasizing Sharma’s continued role as a mentor and guiding force.

Acknowledging Sharma’s significant contributions to Mumbai Indians’ success over the years, Pandya expressed confidence in carrying forward the team’s legacy under his stewardship. Despite the leadership transition, Pandya emphasized the seamless continuity and mutual respect between him and Sharma, who has been an integral part of the franchise for a decade.
