The Indian opener, Rohit Sharma has been enjoying a purple patch in his career since World Cup 2019. He piled some big runs in the mega-event and also proved his mantle in the Test format as an opener for the Indian team. Currently, he is playing in the pink-ball Test against Bangladesh.
Soon after the conclusion of the series against Bangladesh, India will be hosting West Indies for three T20Is and as many as ODIs against West Indies and there were some rumors that the selectors will offer some rest to the opener. But as per the reports, Rohit nowhere looks to settle down too early.
Rohit has been playing regular cricket for Team India across all the formats. In the current year, he has already played as many as 25 ODIs, 11 T20Is which is more than the matches played by the Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who has been given rest twice.

MSK Prasad-led selection panel had a prolonged discussion over the workload management of the Indian opener, who is close to playing as many as 50 international games in 2019. On Thursday, the national selection committee was scheduled to meet in order to pick the squad for the T20I and ODI series against West Indies. However, Rohit didn’t attend the meeting but had passed down his message through Virat Kohli over his selection in the team.
As per reports in Bangalore Mirror, the Indian vice-captain in ODIs and T20Is doesn’t want to be left out. He expressed that he wants to carry on with his peak form. Rohit didn’t have the best of his games against Bangladesh in the first-ever Day-Night Test. On Day 1, he got out LBW on a brilliant inswinging delivery bowled by Ebadot Hossain. The Indian opener could only score 21 off 35 balls before getting dismissed.
