Alzarri Joseph, who made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad, has made a record also. He picked up 6 wickets while conceding mere 12 runs. His spell became the best bowling figure in IPL history; which dismantled Hyderabad’s batting and Mumbai won the game convincingly in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 6. However, he broke Sohail Tanvir’s record of 6/14 which came in 2008. His debut seemed to be a dream debut for him.
“It’s unbelievable. It’s a dream start. I don’t think it could get any better. I just wanted to go out and put all my effort into this team. It was my first game, I just wanted to get out there on the park and get bowling and get the wickets,” Joseph was quoted saying in an interview with his Mumbai Indian captain Rohit Sharma for the iplt20.com.

Alzarri Joseph picked up David Warner in the very first ball of his first over and later he expressed that he had trust in his preparation. Rohit Sharma, however, was pretty impressed with his bowling bowler and his attitude towards the game.
“I don’t really celebrate wickets, I celebrate wins. My aim isn’t just to get wickets but to win the game for my team. It’s not something I really play for. I only play for wins, not the limelight. It’s a good feeling but I want to win this tournament [for Mumbai Indians],” Alzarri Joseph told in the interview.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma liked this about the young fast bowler and took to Twitter and shared his thought.
