India and South Africa are looking horns with each other in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Holkar Stadium in India. Rishabh Pant was over-enthusiastic as he cried out ‘bat laga tha’ despite both bowler Umesh Yadav and Rohit Sharma being convinced there was no nick off the bat.
Earlier in the game the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first citing the batting paradise. While, the Proteas skipper, Temba Bavuma made just one change in the XI as Dwaine Pretorius came in for Anrich Nortje, India made as many as three changes as KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Arshdeep Singh made way for Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav.

Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw kept on smashing the Indian bowlers all across the ground, despite Temba Bavuma falling for 3 runs. De Kock made 68 runs in 43 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes and added 89 runs with Rossouw for the second wicket.
Rilee Rossouw played some big shots during his knock but a particular appeal caught an eye on social media. Umesh Yadav was bowling the fifth over with Roussow on strike for the third ball. The delivery drifted down the leg side and it seemed to brush the left-hander’s thigh pad. Rishabh Pant collected the ball behind the wickets and immediately appealed for a dismissal, convinced of an edge.

After appealing, Rishabh Pant screamed ‘bat laga tha yaar’ to convince his captain Rohit Sharma of the dismissal. His appeal went in vain as Rohit simply laughed off Pant’s request for a DRS. Not to be undone, Pant kept on pushing his captain to take a punt on the review. However, with Umesh Yadav pointing at his own leg whilst walking away without appealing, Rohit was convinced that he had made the right call.
