Rohit Sharma to lead India in SL T20I as Kohli receives some more rest

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the T20 International squad for upcoming three-match T20I series versus Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma gets the reins of this team as regular skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for this series as well.

Tamil Nadu’s young all-rounder Washington Sudar has been included in the squad as he passed the Yo-Yo test on Saturday. Also, dynamic batsman, Deepak Hooda has received his maiden international call-up for this series after a brilliant domestic season. Meanwhile, Jayadev Unadkat makes a comeback into the Indian setup after a while.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan is missing from the batting department, but rest of the players who featured in New Zealand T20Is has retained their position in the team.

The first T20I will be played in Cuttack on December 20, followed by Indore and Mumbai on 22 and 24 respectively. This will be the last series before India’s big South Africa tour.
