India and Australia are locking horns with each other in the opening game of the three-match series as the PCA stadium in Mohali. Being the skipper of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma has been expressive on the field in recent times. He produced a funny reaction as Steve Smith was dismissed caught behind but was seen denying the nick which was detected by DRS overruling the umpire’s call.

Earlier in the game, it was Hardik Pandya though, who stole the show with a fiery unbeaten knock of 71 off 30, helping India post 208/6 after being put in to bat. The all-rounder smashed seven fours and five sixes, with three maximums coming on the last three balls of the innings. Apart from him, KL Rahul played a flamboyant knock as he smashed 55 runs off 35 balls.

Defending the score, the Indian bowling unit didn’t start well as Cameron Green wreaked havoc at the start of the innings courtesy of a dropped catch in the 7th over. He scored 61 runs from just 30 balls and took the game away from the hosts.

However, the wickets started falling after the 10-over mark for Australia and Steve Smith was dismissed in a controversial manner. Umesh Yadav came to bowl the 12th over and he bowled a full delivery outside off to Steve Smith. The batter opened the face of the bat and Team India appealed for caught behind, Umpire ruled it not out but Rohit Sharma immediately opted for a review.

The replays showed that Smith has nicked the ball and the on-filed umpire had to change his decision.  The batter was seen denying the edged before walking back to the pavilion and Rohit Sharma gave a hilarious reaction to Smith’s denial.
