A video of Rohit Sharma slipping on the stairs of the India team bus has attracted significant attention on social media. The incident reportedly took place on the night of September 27, 2026, in Thiruvananthapuram, as the Indian team returned to its hotel after securing a comfortable victory over the West Indies in the first ODI.
The video, shared on X, shows Rohit losing his footing while stepping onto the team bus and falling on the stairs. Support staff and people nearby immediately rushed to assist the veteran batter and helped him back to his feet. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from the BCCI or Rohit Sharma regarding any injury resulting from the incident.
Rohit, who turned 39 on April 30, 2026, arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on September 24 ahead of the series opener. The right-handed batter returned to ODI cricket after a two-month gap, having last represented India in the format against England on July 19.

His comeback came alongside Virat Kohli, with both experienced batters included in India’s ODI squad for the three-match series. India made an impressive start to the campaign, defeating the West Indies by eight wickets at the Greenfield International Stadium to take a 1-0 lead.

The West Indies posted 295/7 in 50 overs, with Justin Greaves scoring a century while John Campbell and Amir Jangoo contributed half-centuries. Kuldeep Yadav was India’s leading bowler, claiming four wickets during an impressive spell.
India’s chase was equally commanding, with Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli scoring centuries to guide the hosts to victory with eight wickets in hand.

The second ODI will be played in Guwahati on September 30, followed by the third match in New Chandigarh on October 3. The tour will subsequently feature a five-match T20I series.
