The breakthrough came in just the second over when Vaibhav Arora delivered a short ball outside off.
Marsh attempted an aggressive pull but mistimed it high towards mid-on. Powell showed exceptional awareness, backpedalling quickly before circling under the ball and diving at the last moment to complete a superb two-handed catch. Marsh was forced to depart for just two runs, leaving LSG at 8/1.

However, the effort came at a cost. Powell landed awkwardly on his left arm and briefly left the field after receiving medical attention, raising concerns in the KKR camp. He was later seen on the sidelines, while Manish Pandey stepped in as a substitute fielder.

Following the early setback, Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram steadied the innings with a cautious approach. At the end of the powerplay, LSG were 37/1, with both batters looking to rebuild after the early loss.
Earlier in the match, KKR posted a competitive total of 155/7, largely driven by a sensational innings from Rinku Singh. The left-hander played a lone hand, smashing an unbeaten 83 off 51 deliveries, including five sixes and seven boundaries. His late assault featured four consecutive sixes off Digvesh Rathi in the final over, lifting KKR to a defendable score. Cameron Green chipped in with a useful 34.
