Gaikwad’s popularity was evident during the game, as a fan managed to breach security to express his admiration. The passionate supporter ran onto the field on Day 2 to touch the feet of the India C captain. This heartfelt gesture quickly went viral, with many fans highlighting the deep affection the cricketer commands, particularly due to his association with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s time with CSK has seen him grow under the mentorship of MS Dhoni, who has played a pivotal role in shaping his career. Last year, Gaikwad was handed the reins of CSK, taking over the captaincy from Dhoni. Although the team didn’t qualify for the playoffs, Gaikwad’s leadership was well-received by fans, who continued to support him throughout the season.

 

 

In the ongoing Duleep Trophy match, however, Gaikwad had a challenging outing with the bat. Opening for his team, he could only manage 5 runs off 19 balls, striking just one boundary before being dismissed. India C struggled as a whole, being bowled out for 168 in response to India D’s 164. Despite regular wickets falling, Baba Indrajith stood tall with a fighting 72, supported by Abishek Porel’s 34, ensuring their team crossed the 100-run mark.
