Sachin Tendulkar To Sue A Casino For Using His Morphed Images

On Thursday, legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to clarify that his morphed photographs have been used to promote a casino located in Goa and clarified that he has never endorsed gambling, tobacco, or alcohol. Tendulkar’s legal team will be issuing a notice to the agency that morphed his images to promote the ‘Big Daddy’ casino.

Captioning his Twitter post,  Sachin Tendulkar, “Requesting everyone to remain vigilant about misleading images on social media.”

In his post, the batting legend elaborated, “It has come to my notice that there are multiple ads being shown on social media platforms, with a morphed photo showing me endorsing a casino…I have never endorsed gambling, tobacco, or alcohol — directly or indirectly, in an individual capacity. It pains me to see that my images are being used to mislead people. While my legal team will be taking the required action, I felt it was important for me to share this information with everyone.”

A cyber police officer said that they are yet to receive any complained from Sachin Tendulkar and added that if reported, the matter would be with Bandra police, as Tendulkar lives there. Till evening, Bandra police said they too have not received a complaint from the master blaster.

The recently released Mumbai Police cybercrime report had shown that nine cases of fake social media profiles/morphing email/SMS have been registered in January, but just one case has been cracked so far. In 2021, a total of 118 such cases were registered across the 94 city police stations of which 36 were detected, while during the pandemic lockdown in 2020, 30 cases were registered by the police, and eight of them were solved.
