Sam Curran Keeping Himself Fit To Play In IPL 2020

The young England all-rounder, Sam Curran is one of the most valued all-rounders for the nation. He has been taking huge steps in international cricket in the past few days and has done extremely well for his team. The all-rounder has been a revelation of sort for the English team.

For the IPL 2020, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought the services of the all-rounder. However, the 21-day lockdown in India has raised some questions over the happening of the tournament. Curran, who was bought by the franchise for INR 5.5 crore, has confirmed that he will take part in the league whenever it happens.

Sam Curran revealed that CSK team management has been in touch with all the players around the globe. He said, “We’re just trying to keep fit and keep training like we usually do. April 15 is the proposed date, but I think India has also gone into lockdown. But each day it changes. CSK has been in touch about trying to do what we can. All the CSK boys around the world, every country is in lockdown, so every cricketer is in the same boat.”

Curran also said there could a decision coming anytime and it’s important for him to keep himself fit. 

The all-rounder added, “It would be silly not to keep fit because it might come to a two-week turnaround and we’re all on the park. Fingers crossed it’s soon.”

Curran was bought by Kings XI Punjab in the previous season. He has received a hefty payment of INR 7.2 Crore for the 2019 season. He had a successful season as well. In nine matches, Sam scored 95 runs at a strike rate of 172 while picking up 10 wickets.

Interestingly, Sam Curran’s brother Tom Curran has also bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 1 crore. He was in isolation recently after he had partied with some friends. Fortunately, he didn’t get the virus and is likely to be back in India whenever the IPL starts.
