Sanju Samson started the Indian Premier League 2021 with a bang as he notched a fine century against Punjab Kings in their opening game. However, he failed to take his form forward with three consecutive failures in the upcoming games. His failure with the bat reflected in his team’s fortune as well. Rajasthan Royals are placed seventh on the points table with one victory out of the first three games.
His latest failure came against Royal Challengers Bangalore, where his team needed him to bat deep. He was looking in good touch as well to post a big score for his team. Samson greeted Washington Sundar, who came into bowl the 8th over of the innings, with absolute disdain as he smashed a huge six on his first ball on the spell.

However, Sunday made immediate amends as he dismissed the dangerous-looking Samson on the very next ball, who gave a simple catch to Glen Maxwell. This soft dismissal left everyone disappointed but it was Sunday who had the last laugh.

Earlier, Virat Kohli won the toss and put Rajasthan Royals into bat, who got off to a poor start as RCB pacers jolted their innings with early wickets. RR lost three wickets inside the powerplay, which included prized scalps of Jos Buttler and David Miller. Samson too followed them into the pavilion by chipping a straight ball to the fielder.

Things looked worse for Rajasthan Royals when Shivam Dube took the charge and scored a stroke-filled 46 runs. Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia also chipped in with crucial cameos. Tewatia’s destructive 40 runs took RR’s total to 177/9 in 20 overs.
Siraj and Harshal Patel shone with the ball with three wickets each. However, Patel went for 47 runs in this game while Siraj conceded just 27 runs in his four overs.
