Jasprit Bumrah, the pace sensation of Indian cricket, had a special cheering squad at the Wankhede Stadium during the Mumbai Indians’ crucial IPL 2025 clash against the Lucknow Super Giants. His wife, television presenter Sanjana Ganesan, and their one-and-a-half-year-old son, Angad, were spotted in the stands, offering their silent but powerful support. Inspired perhaps by their presence, Bumrah delivered a phenomenal spell, picking up four key wickets to guide MI to a dominant victory in Match 45.

However, what should have been a heartwarming family moment soon turned sour on social media. After Bumrah’s heroics, cameras captured little Angad’s expression — a calm, straight-faced look that soon became the subject of memes and unwarranted commentary. Screenshots went viral, and the insensitive posts caught the attention of Sanjana, who didn’t stay silent.

Taking to Instagram on April 28, Sanjana urged people to stop dragging their young son into the spotlight for amusement. “Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment,” she firmly stated. She explained how both she and Bumrah have made a conscious decision to keep Angad away from the toxic side of the Internet and were only at the ground to support Jasprit.

In a heartfelt message, Sanjana added, “We have no interest in our son being viral content or national news, with keyboard warriors deciding his personality based on three seconds of footage.” She expressed deep disappointment over people irresponsibly linking terms like “trauma” and “depression” to a toddler.

Highlighting how dangerous and insensitive such commentary is, she said, “He is one and a half years old. Throwing around words like trauma and depression says so much about who we are becoming as a community. It’s honestly very sad.”

Sanjana concluded by urging netizens to exercise honesty, empathy, and restraint online, reminding everyone that a little kindness goes a long way in today’s world.
