Sanjay Manjrekar Feels SRH Needs To Include Kane Williamson

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has witnessed a forgettable start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 campaign has endured a poor start to their 2021 IPL campaign. The side has lost both their first couple of matches in the 14th edition of the IPL and is now languishing at 7th place in the points table. In their second match of the IPL 2021, SRH suffered a loss of 6 runs against the Virat Kohli-led RCB. Chasing a target of 150, the SRH side could only muster a score of 143/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

And, one man who was immensely criticized was Manish Pandey, who only managed to score 39 balls to score 38 runs, and his slow approach has been criticized by fans and cricket experts alike. Even in SRH’s first match of IPL 2021, Pandey’s 61 failed to get his side over the line.

And now, cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has opined that the SRH needs include a player like Kane Williamson in their side. He also added that he has always maintained this opinion.

Williamson has a phenomenal record in the history of the IPL. The New Zealand batting maestro has featured in 53 games in the IPL and has scored 1619 runs at a healthy average of 39.49. He has also managed to maintain a decent strike rate of 134.80.

Kane Williamson also won the orange cap award in the 2018 edition of the IPL when he had amassed 735 runs in the 11th IPL season and scored his runs at a huge average of 52.50 and an excellent strike rate of 142.44. In fact, it was Williamson’s stunning outing in the IPL 2018 season that allowed the SRH side to reach the summit clash of the tournament.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side will lock horns against the mighty Mumbai Indians (MI) side on 17th April 2021 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
