There were some strange decisions made by the LSG management while picking the eleven and by Pant on the field which could have been one of the causes for losing a match that was in their grasp. There also seemed to be a lot of chat in the dugout as well. Straight after the loss Pant was seen in the dugout having an animated chat with head coach Justin Langer and team owner Sanjiv Goenka.

This has led to the fans trolling the Goenka Group chairperson on social media for getting too involved with the management. Some fans were also comparing this chat with last season where it looked like the Owner was scolding then LSG skipper KL Rahul after a game. It is safe to say that Goenka is not a popular figure among the cricketing fans.
