In the 5th match of the 15th season of IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) locked horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the fans witnessed a conversation between two Malayalee players. SRH skipper, Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal at the crease. Sanju was the man of the match with 55 off 27 balls, including five sixes and three fours. Padikkal also played a knock of 41 off 29 balls.
The duo went on to add 73 runs. There were some interesting moments when the two were in the crease. Both were speaking in Malayalam. Born in Edappal, Malappuram district, Devdutt is fluent in Malayalam. While batting, Sanju used to ask Padikkal, “Isn’t the ball coming on to bat well?” Later in the run between the wickets, Sanju spoke in Malayalam. Sanju used to say two … two … to double the number of singles. The video of the conversation between the two was discussed on social media.

Even when Sanju set the field, he spoke to Devdutt in Malayalam. The audience could hear Sanju shouting “Eda … are you down …” through the stump mic. But Devdut did not pay attention to what was said. He was still calling “Dev … Dev …”. In the IPL where the world stars line up, the two spoke in Malayalam which made the Malayalee fans very happy.

Rajasthan won the game by 61 runs. After losing the toss and opting to bat, Rajasthan scored 210 for six. In reply, Hyderabad scored 149 for seven. Celebrities praised Sanju’s batting. Former cricketer and selector Krishnamachari Srikanth has said that he does not seem to notice Sanju’s batting.

Meanwhile, Sanju set a record in his own name. Sanju holds the record for most sixes for Rajasthan. Sanju currently has 110 sixes in his account. He overtook former Rajasthan cricketer Shane Watson. Sanju has 110 sixes in his account. Jose Butler is third in this regard. The Englishman has 69 sixes in his account. Currently, Sanju is the highest run scorer in the Rajasthan-Hyderabad match.
